Basil Kitchen Restaurant

Well, today I think I’m going to talk about the food at Basil kitchen Restaurant. Basil Kitchen is owned by a friend of mine for many years called Tatiana. She has been extremely kind and taking care of me while I have been in Bali. She has let me stay in some of the Villas that she manages when nobody has them reserved and has let me eat at her restaurant when I need. She has been a very good friend to me.
This may sound like a plug, because it is, but it is also the truth. One of the great Pleasures I have in a day, sitting at Basil kitchen and having breakfast. This is usually having the bazel breakfast, which consists of bacon, egg, fried cheese, fried mushrooms, avocado, spinach, toasted sourdough bread, and most importantly a large pot of English black tea. Sitting on the patio watching the world go by and having that breakfast and tea, makes the world just that little bit more hopeful. I enjoy it truly. The staff is very nice, and when I get back into money I shall have to do something nice for them. I showed them all the Oculus Rift and I let them play with it, which is the best I can do at the moment. But I really would like to do something special for them later, they have all been so kind.
Sometimes I also have the Mexican breakfast, which is basically eggs, pulled pork, red beans, corn, salsa, squashed avocado, sourdough toast, and of course my favorite, a pot of black tea.
At the moment she has put most of her meals at 50,000 IDR, which runs about $3.50 USA. It’s really a bit hard to believe. When I have money again, I should probably eat here quite a bit still. I really can’t recommend the restaurant enough, it’s really lovely. My friend takes great pride in what they serve, and I have never had anything bad here.
I think it’s one of the reasons I enjoy coming to Bali. I know I really need to explore more of Bali, but when you really don’t have much budget to work with, and spend most of your time on the computer trying to make deals happen back in the States, it makes it a bit rough.
I am, however, starting up a bali travel site, with all the local tours on it. I thought it might be a good idea to see if I can get a discount on local tours, and I can write about them. Killing two birds with one stone. Getting me out of the room and into a much more pleasant environment, and getting them articles use and post on the internet to market their tour.
Anyway, it is just a thought, I will keep you updated on what happens.
