Luxury Living in Bali
Just so people don’t feel too bad about my situation, when I go to Bali and stay there, I stay in some pretty nice Villas. One of my friends that I have known for about 15 years has a business here. They manage villas for villa owners for Airbnb. If nobody is staying in any of the Villas, then that’s where I get to stay. It’s pretty damn good. These are Villas where you would spend a few hundred dollars a night to stay. They have private pools, and magnificent queen size beds, often with a canopy. They have full kitchens, and something I appreciate most from when I stay in Manila without it, they have air conditioning. They are really wonderful places to stay and I feel as if I’m living like a king on vacation. I do however have to move every couple of days if not everyday, depending on when a villa is booked. I may only have a couple of hours notice before I have to move. But as I’m living out of one bag anyway, takes me about 5 minutes to pack, and that’s if I take a nap while packing. One of the joys of not having too much stuff.
My friend is a very good friend and does not have to do this. I have done small business deals with her in the past and helped her a little bit with her businesses. But she is going above and beyond to help me. I can’t tell you how much I appreciate it.
Oh, I didn’t mention that she feeds me. She has one of the nicer restaurants in Bali, and the food is great. So I get to go eat in the restaurant for free. Almost every morning I walk down and sit on the patio. There are some days I’m sitting there having my tea watching the world go by when I think it could all end now and I would be okay. Anybody that visits Bali should visit Bali kitchen. The serving staff is all very nice and very kind. (ok, it sounded like a plug, but it is all true)
I do feel strongly that I impose too much as much as they say I do not. I have always been the one to help others, and I actually find it quite difficult to let them help me. But I just try and shut up and accept it and smile and realize that when I get back on my feet I will help them back and do good things for them to the best of my ability. If they asked me to scrub the toilets and paint the building I would happily do so. All I can say is, sometimes what we do in the past helps us in the future, we reap what we s0w. So be good to your friends, and if they are real friends, they will help you in the future when you are in need. The friends that have helped me now, I will have their back for the rest of my life in whatever they need.
I really should explore Bali more. I work on my computer inside my room and don’t really see too much of it. When I’m in the Villas I don’t mind because they are so beautiful I feel at peace. I do need to get more of a life going though. I do often walk around a little bit, but when you don’t really have any money it’s sort of limits what you can do. And in some ways, it’s not so much the money as the spirit. I’m sure there are some free temples I could go see and there’s always the beach a short walk away. Things are getting better though. I think my next time to Bali I will visit as many things as I can, take a lot of pictures and see if I can’t fill up this blog with a bit of excitement.
